The Knicks will once again take the court on Christmas Day this upcoming season, continuing a beloved annual tradition.
According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Knicks will host Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in the first game of the NBA's five-game slate on Dec. 25. This will be the fourth consecutive Christmas Day game for the Knicks and their fourth in the last six seasons.
Last season, the Knicks beat Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day, 129-122. Jalen Brunson posted 38 points while Giannis had 32 to lead his team.
The Knicks and Spurs faced off twice last season. The first was at The Garden on Nov. 8, a 126-105 win for the Knicks. However, the Spurs evened up the season series in San Antonio on March 29 of this year with a 130-126 overtime victory.
Wembanyama and Brunson went off in that second tilt. The Knicks point guard had a game-high 61 points on 25-of-47 shooting while the rookie put up 40 points to go along with 20 rebounds.
The other Christmas Day games will include the Mavericks hosing the Timberwolves, the Celtics hosting the 76ers, the Warriors at home against the Lakers and the Nuggets traveling to Phoenix to take on the Suns.
