The LA Clippers will pay tribute to the late basketball icon Jerry West during the 2024-25 season with a special “JW” court decal and a dedicated memorial seat at Intuit Dome. Jerry West, who was an Executive Board Member and Consultant for the franchise from 2017 until his passing on June 12, 2024, at the age of 86, made a lasting impact on the organization and the sport as a whole. His legacy will be honored and remembered by the Clippers and their fans throughout the upcoming season.

“Jerry was a lifelong learner and teacher who inspired all of us with his intellect, enthusiasm and love for the game,” said Clippers Chairman Steve Ballmer. “He gave his whole heart to the NBA. We think about him and we miss him every day.”

The Clippers will debut the decal and memorial, as well as a celebration of life video for West at tomorrow’s regular-season opener against the Phoenix Suns at Intuit Dome.

Since West joined the organization as an Executive Board Member and Consultant on June 19, 2017, the Clippers never had a losing season and appeared in the first Western Conference Finals in franchise history in 2021. On October 13, West became the first three-time inductee to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame when he was inducted as a contributor, recognizing his front office contributions to the Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers.

During his illustrious 14-year playing career, West made 14-consecutive NBA All-Star teams and was named to 12 All-NBA teams. West captured an NBA Championship in 1972 and was named to the NBA’s 35th Anniversary Team, selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History and named to the league’s 75th Anniversary Team.
