Today, at the Dubai International Stadium, India is battling it out against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final. Iyer's drop proved to be a pivotal moment in the match, and a clip of Sharma's disappointed expression went viral within minutes.

Rachin Ravindra, who was performing strongly at the crease, took advantage of a missed catch. Nevertheless, Shreyas Iyer’s concerns were short-lived as Kuldeep Yadav removed Ravindra with his very first delivery in the final.

India Secures Upper Hand Kuldeep Yadav delivered a googly from around the wicket that caught Ravindra off guard. The left-handed batsman miscalculated the spin while on the back foot, resulting in the ball turning sharply past his inside edge and hitting the stumps. Ravindra made a commendable 37 runs off 29 balls before being dismissed, leaving New Zealand at 69 for 2 after 10.1 overs.

In the initial stages of the innings, Will Young and Rachin Ravindra established a 50-run partnership at a quick tempo. Young struck a pull shot for four off a short delivery from Mohammed Shami, placing it between mid-wicket and mid-on in just 6.6 overs. New Zealand began their innings positively after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

New Zealand experienced a significant setback in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against India, losing three crucial wickets in just 14 overs. Rachin Ravindra made a strong start, scoring 37 runs off 29 balls, including four fours and a six, before being dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.

Will Young found it difficult to increase his scoring rate and was dismissed lbw by Varun Chakravarthy after making 15 runs from 23 balls. Kane Williamson scored only 11 runs off 14 balls before being caught and bowled by Kuldeep Yadav. Daryl Mitchell, with 8 runs off 17 balls, and Tom Latham, who scored 1 run from 1 ball, are currently at the crease, working to stabilize New Zealand’s innings and enhance their total.
