Facundo Pellistri's future at Manchester United appears uncertain as reports suggest that the club is in negotiations to transfer him to Panathinaikos.
The winger signed for United in 2020 in a deal worth around £7million and was tipped for a big future, but he’s spent more time out on loan than at Old Trafford.
In all, Pellistri has made just 25 appearances for the Red Devils, totalling 611 minutes in four years, with no goals and only two assists to show for it.
Additionally, underwhelming loan spells in Spain with Alaves and Granada haven’t convinced manager Erik ten Hag and co-owners INEOS that the 22-year-old is worth keeping, with United looking to sell this summer.
And it appears they have a buyer, with The Athletic reporting that Panathinaikos are in talks to buy the Uruguay international, with United wanting €10m (£8.5m).
The Greek club have already agreed personal terms with Pellistri set to sign a four-year contract but it is not a done deal yet, with other clubs interested in the player.
But it is said that the interested parties want the winger on loan and United would much prefer a permanent transfer, with Pellistri now in the last year of his contract, though there is an option to extend it for another season.
He came off the bench for the last half-hour of the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City but wasn’t even in the matchday squad for United’s opening Premier League game of the season last Friday.
Fellow winger Jadon Sancho was also absent for the 1-0 win over Fulham amid speculation that he could also leave Old Trafford.
The England international has been linked with a move to PSG in a deal which could see Manuel Ugarte move the other way.
However, it is said that the Ligue 1 champions are not interested in Sancho who spent the second-half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after his infamous fallout with Ten Hag.
